Swim with Gentle Whale Sharks from Cancun and Riviera Maya (Season May-Sep 2018)

Description

This is a seasonal excursion available only from May 24th until September 17th 2018. Swim with the the biggest but harmless fish in the world when the whale sharks come to Isla Contoy where the Caribbean Sea meets the Gulf of Mexico to feed on plankton. During the whale shark season which starts on May 24 and ends on September 15, you will have the remarkable opportunity to swim and snorkel with the whale shark, known as the gentle giant, in an area teeming with sea life. The tour is limited to 10 people and is led by certificated guides and biologists who know everything about the area and the whale sharks. Note: It is important to know that we cannot control nature. So, we can not guarantee the snorkeling with the whale sharks nor the sightings. The whale sharks come to the waters near Cancun to feed on plankton, but when there is not much plankton there are only few or no whale sharks. We recommend to make your reservation between mid-June to August when there is higher possibility to see whale sharks.

Important Notes

Restrictions: Suitable for ages 5 and up. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by one paying adult. Not permitted during pregnancy. Participants must know how to swim. It is prohibited to use non-biodegradable sunscreen in order to protect the animal and the sea from pollution.

Recommendations: We recommend to bring your bathing suit on, wetsuit if you have, impermeable jacket if you have, change of clothes, towel, sunglasses, sun cap, biodegradable sunscreen, underwater camera, basic personal hygiene products, medication to prevent seasickness if needed, and extra cash or credit card for souvenirs and photographs.

Inclusions

The excursion includes certified professional guides, snorkel equipment, light breakfast, lunch (shrimp ceviche and chicken sandwich or vegetarian) and non-alcoholic beverages.
